The D-Link 8-Port Desktop Switch with 4 PoE Ports (DES-1008PA) enables both home and office users to easily connect and supply power to Power over Ethenet (PoE) devices such as wireless Access Points (APs), IP cameras, and IP phones while adding more Ethernet devices like computers, printers, and Network Attached Storage (NAS) onto a network. Built with home and small business users in mind, this compact PoE switch operates quietly, making it ideal for use in virtually any room or office. In addition, this device can be wall-mounted so that it does not take up any desktop real estate (wall mounting kit included).
A versatile switch from Linksys, with 8 RJ-45 ports operating at 10/100 Mbps and two ports operating at 10/100/1000 Mbps(ports 9 and 10 are shared with the two mini-GBIC transceiver slots), two mini-GBIC (GigaBit Interface Converter) slots (for fast interconnection with other switches even at longer distances), a dedicated console port, and 5.6 Gbps total switching capacity.
It also offers VLAN support (256 active IDs in a 4096 address space), and PoE (Power over Ethernet), allowing 15.4 watts on four connections, or up to 7.5 watts on all eight of the 10/100 Mbps connections. It operates as a 10/100/1000 Mbps switch and administration is via an easy to use browser-based interface or the dedicated console connection.
WebView monitoring allows administrators to view the current status and configuration using their favorite web browser
Port based and 802.1q based VLAN's support up to 128 VLANS
Port Trunking for up to 4 groups (with up to 8 ports in a group) allows you to increase your bandwidth for each uplink or Server connection
Port configuration settings for Link, Speed, Auto MDI/MDIX, Flow Control, and more
Fully rack-mountable using the included rack-mounting hardware
Auto MDI/MDIX per port allows for automatic Cable detection
Optimal platform to support real-time applications like voice and video by providing features like IGMP snooping, multiple queues (4) with appropriate scheduling techniques, prioritization of traffic based on L2/L3 priority, and line rate forwarding mechanisms
Secure control with SSL for HTTP interface
User/Network security via 802.1x (with Radius authentication) and MAC-based filtering
Containment of storms - Broadcast and Multicast
Expandability and availability increased across multiple switches using Link Aggregation
SNMP and RMON management expand your visibility options
Maximum output power per port of up to 15.4W simultaneously on 12 ports. Alternatively, the switch can power all ports at a maximum of 7.5 W per port.
